Black Hairy Tongue
SYMPTOMS include the tongue becoming blackened and elongation of the thread
like elevations (called papillae) that cover the tongue. No pain.
CAUSES are from an overgrowth of fungi that may be the result of too many
bacteria being killed by an antibiotic treatment.
TREATMENT. Brushing the tongue and antifungal medication may be prescribed.
